- Enter the park with necessary permits – official photo identification IDs and other necessary documents like entry permits, payment confirmation, and others.
- It is always a good idea to take the company of a naturalist who better understands the landscapes and can offer you a detailed insight into the views of Corbett.
- As per the governments latest guidelines, elephant rides have been banned owing to the drive to preserve wildlife. So, take canter and jeep safaris.
- Make advance bookings for a seamless tour experience
- Keep your drive in the national park low-key and slow without disturbing or causing harm to the wildlife.
- Keep the pitch of your voice as low as possible to avoid disturbing the wildlife.
- Wear clothes with lighter hues to stay away from the attraction point of animals.
- Feel free to shoot snaps with your camera.
- Keep your entry permits handy for entries into particular zones, as every zone is restricted with a permit.
- Keep the environment and landscape of Corbett as clean as possible
- Make bookings well in advance – 45 days prior to your travel if you are an Indian and 90 days prior if you are a foreigner.
- Stick to the forest officials rules, regulations, and guidelines for trials and roads. Driving off the path can hamper wildlife and their natural habitat.
- Cater to both the permits – day and FRH to make your trip smoother
- Act as responsible and eco-friendly tourists
- Take special permits and collect the Forest Rest House permit from the reception office of the supreme authority.
- Keep a safer distance from large animals

Don’ts in Jim Corbett National Park
Non-compliance with Corbett's rules and regulations can land you serious issues. Try to maximize your safety by not indulging in any misbehavior.
- Do not wait for last-minute or on-the-spot reservations; many zones and amenities cannot be enjoyed with on-the-spot reservations.
- Do not expect entry without permits.
- Do not litter anywhere in the park, lodging, or any other zone of the Corbett.
- Do not play loud music or talk loudly in the vicinity of animals
- Do not carry any gun or pistol in the forest or any self-defense device; forest authorities have all the necessary equipment for your protection
- Do not wear too brighter clothes as it attracts the attention of animals
- Do not trigger the animals by making sounds to grab their attention; this can cause their restlessness
- Please do not get out of your vehicle during the safari or at any point where it is not allowed
- Do not consume nonveg items or alcohol in the boundaries of Corbett as it can turn out against your safety
- Do not take pictures by going too close to the animals – it can hamper your safety boundaries
- Do not leave your children unattended – keep a close eye on their moves
- Smoking is avoided in the park – do not engage in such behaviors as it is against the law and poses a serious threat to the forest in terms of fire hazard
- Do not stay in the park after sunset – entry gates are closed after sunset
- Don’t take elephant safaris – avoid taking such safaris as it has been prohibited in some zones by the Government orders
- Don't employ the feature of flash while taking animal snaps, as it can startle the wildlife in unusual ways
- Tigers are more elusive and shy creatures, so if you don’t spot them during the safaris, don’t be disappointed or argue with officials
- Do not make calls during your safari venturing; ringtones and sounds can startle the wildlife
